TULSA, OK – TierPoint, a leading national provider of hybrid IT solutions, including cloud, colocation and managed services, announced today that it has completed construction of its new data center in Tulsa. The initial phase of the $20 million facility includes approximately 16,000 sq. ft. of raised floor space, as well as infrastructure support and office space. TierPoint partnered with Compass Data Centers on the project.

The new data center will further enhance TierPoint’s ability to meet growing market demand for hybrid IT solutions, including cloud, colocation, disaster recovery and IT security services. With 24x7x365 onsite security, technical and engineering support, the expanded facility includes dedicated space to be used by clients for their business needs. “We have already begun to install clients and are currently negotiating with a couple of major institutions that have shown interest in the facility,” said Todd Currie, TierPoint Vice President and General Manager. Currie added that access to reasonably priced land and electrical power, as well growing interest in edge technology, make Oklahoma one of the most inviting data center markets in the country.

The new Tulsa data center is designed and operated to meet SSAE 18, PCI-DSS, GLBA and HIPAA security and compliance standards, verified by annual assessments of all 40 TierPoint facilities. Features include dual factor, biometrical access control with around-the-clock onsite security; dual utility service feeds with onsite TierPoint controlled substations; independent AB power distribution; N+1 backup generators; N+1 HVAC deployment; all designed for supporting up to 350 watts per square foot of raised floor. The site is carrier neutral with diverse fiber points of entry for redundancy.

In addition to the new facility, TierPoint currently operates a data center in Tulsa’s historic Brady District, as well as two data centers in Oklahoma City, including the state’s largest commercial data center.

LANSING, Mich. – Liquid Web, LLC, the market leader in managed hosting and managed application services to SMBs and web professionals, has partnered with Jilt, the leader in abandoned cart technology for WooCommerce, to bring Jilt email automation to their Managed WooCommerce hosting customers.

Included in the cost of the Managed WooCommerce Hosting plan, the added feature means that store owners can take immediate action to capture lost revenue.

“Liquid Web’s commitment to innovating for their customers and pushing the envelope to deliver new and unique services really appeals to us,” said Max Rice, co-founder and CEO at Jilt. “Just like Liquid Web is constantly redefining what managed hosting platforms can be, we’re also laser focused on breaking new ground when it comes to eCommerce marketing automation. Our goal is to make Jilt the best email marketing solution for eCommerce stores. Liquid Web is the perfect partner for us to bring the services we’re building to a wider audience of eCommerce shop owners,” said Rice.

“Until now, many store owners felt they had to choose between hosted eCommerce offerings like Shopify or Squarespace or self-hosted solutions with WooCommerce,” said Chris Lema, VP of Products and Innovation for Liquid Web. “If they didn’t want to work with servers, it meant they walked away from WooCommerce. Sadly. Our new Managed WooCommerce Hosting solution gives customers a way to have all the freedom of the platform without any of the hosted worries,” said Lema.

“At Liquid Web, our focus is in the SMB space and the freelancers and agencies that serve them. That focus has meant doing the heavy lifting to create an elastic and dynamic platform for online stores. More than simply installing WooCommerce as a plugin (which many other hosts do), our Managed WooCommerce Hosting product is a total solution – bringing custom code, a container-based dynamic platform, partners for analytics, search and abandoned cart technology. Jilt’s email automation allows store owners to reclaim revenue that was left on the table by customers who weren’t using any abandoned cart technology,” said Lema.

Microsoft is developing an update to its Bot framework which will enable support for Java and Python. The developers currently use v3 of Bot Builder SDK (software development kit), which supports .NET, and JavaScript options, to develop several chat bot plots. These chat bots are hosted on Azure Bot Service, which Microsoft made generally available in December last year. Azure Bot Service helps developers to build chat bot platforms on a variety of channels, like Facebook, web chat, Skype, Slack, etc. As noted by Gary Pretty, Technical Strategist at Mando and Microsoft AI, the v4 of Bot Builder SDK is under active development on GitHub. The bot framework teams are working on adding development options for Python and Java options, which will allow more developers to explore the benefits of Bot Builder SDK. “I should say at this point, the team are very clear that v4 of the SDK is under active development and is therefore in a heavy state of flux and as such should only be used for…

Nova Scotia, Canada – DemoWolf, producer of video support tutorials for the web hosting industry, today announced that effective immediately, they’ll be providing their video tutorials to web hosting companies who want them in their websites, for free.

This announcement comes on the heels of DemoWolf implementing a new business model about a year ago. At that time DemoWolf moved away from custom branding their video tutorials and selling them to web hosting companies – a service they’d offered since DemoWolf’s inception in 2005 – to instead offering a membership service whereby hosting providers could sign up to embed their video tutorials into their websites for a monthly fee.

This latest announcement however, seems to take their business model change to am entirely new level. Although there continues to be paid membership plans with more options, DemoWolf now offers a free plan that still allows companies to embed their video tutorials into the knowledgebase or support pages of their websites.

“After years of struggling to find the best model for our business, we feel we now have the formula, and the right pieces in place to continue bringing high quality video tutorials to market” says Rob Moore, president of DemoWolf. “Now every hosting company can offer our video support tutorials to their customers, absolutely free!”

The kicker as they say, is the video tutorials served through the free plan will have a short 5-10 second video ad play before the support video plays. Recognizing that DemoWolf’s members are typically web hosting providers, they will not allow ads for other web hosting or competing companies to display through their ad network. All ads will have to be approved by DemoWolf before being added to the network. In addition, ads will be a maximum of 10 seconds long, and will show a “timer” indicating when the ad will be finished and the main video can begin.

DemoWolf claims that their video support tutorials save hosting companies upwards of 80% in support costs. Instead of a hosting client calling or submitting a ticket to their hosting provider with basic questions, they can instead search for an answer online, and be presented with a video tutorial that will walk them through their solution.

About DemoWolf
DemoWolf currently has over 450 video tutorials covering many aspects of web hosting, and the most commonly asked questions by hosting customers. Topics include help videos on cPanel, Plesk, domain and DNS issues, email client setup instructions, FileZilla and other FTP client instructions, WordPress, and much more. DemoWolf also provides several free tools to help get their videos into members’ websites such as WHMCS, ClientExec, Blesta, HostBill and WordPress plugins and modules. For more information, you can contact DemoWolf by visiting their website at https://demowolf.com/contact/ or by calling their Halifax-based office at 1-902-225-7459.
