LOS ANGELES, CA — DreamHost®, a global leader in web hosting and Managed WordPress, today announced an expansion of its Managed WordPress service, DreamPress, to give users even more options for powerful, purpose-built WordPress hosting.

Since its launch in 2013, DreamPress has brought affordable managed WordPress hosting to the masses in a one-size-fits all offering backed by the power of DreamHost’s open source cloud platform, DreamCompute. Living atop lightning-fast solid state drives (SSDs) and bundling Automattic’s powerful Jetpack plugin, DreamPress quickly became a customer favorite.

In late 2017 DreamHost sneakily and quietly launched a total of three DreamPress packages. These new packages took everything that users loved about DreamPress and gave them even more options to find packages that might more closely meet their needs and budget.

Starting at $16.95 per month (prepaid yearly), DreamPress Basic is the perfect entry point for users new to managed WordPress hosting. With automatic resource scaling, 5GB of storage, and basic site backups, DreamPress Basic is a great option for users looking for a seamless step up from traditional web hosting.

DreamPress Plus hits the sweet spot of price and performance at $24.95 per month. It doubles the amount of available storage space, includes advanced offsite backups powered by VaultPress, adds a daily malware scanning and repair service, grants access to over 200 premium WordPress themes, and bundles Jetpack Professional (a $299/year value) at no extra charge.

For true WordPress power users, DreamPress Advanced at $39.95 per month is the ultimate in luxury. It includes up to five telephone-based concierge-level technical support interactions per month, allows users to stage their sites in a sandbox before pushing to production, and tops out at a mind-boggling 15GB of high-speed SSD storage.

“Three is better than one! Three is better than one! Three is better than one!” said Director of Product, Managed WordPress, John Robison, while sweating three buckets in triple-digit temperatures whilst seated atop a three-humped camel, struggling to contain a triple martini within a coupe glass jauntily dangling off his triple-jointed wrist. “Turning customer suggestions into actual product improvements that make DreamPress better is absolutely our jam. Jam. Jam.” Sparks then erupted from Robison’s neck followed by a fiery explosion of metal and artificial flesh. Turns out, he was a robot. He fooled us all.

All three DreamPress plans are now available to both new and existing DreamHost customers. Easy, affordable, and powerful managed WordPress is just a click away at https://dreamhost.com/dreampress/

Amsterdam, The Netherlands – EvoSwitch, an international and cloud-neutral colocation company with large data centers located in Amsterdam and Washington DC with their cloud interconnection platform EvoSwitch OpenCloud, announces its plans to build a new highly energy-efficient data center in Amsterdam. The new carrier-neutral facility in the Netherlands will be located adjacent to its existing Amsterdam premises, EvoSwitch AMS1.

The new EvoSwitch data center is the first phase of a major facility expansion, with a roadmap to expand capacity up to 30 MVA in the coming years. It will add 6,000 square meters (sq. ft.) of colocation space, offering 7,5MW of new capacity to the company’s existing 15MW data center campus in Amsterdam. EvoSwitch’s in-house engineered modular data center building concept features 2N electrical redundancy and ‘Indirect Adiabatic Free Cooling’ with hot and cold aisle containment. It would allow for a low Power Usage Effectiveness figure (PUE= 1.2) thus resulting in a highly energy-efficient and reliable colocation data center environment for customers. EvoSwitch expects its new data center in Amsterdam to be operational in Q1 2019.

Patented Modular Data Center Technology

Although completely separated from current data centers present at the campus terrain in Amsterdam, the new EvoSwitch AMS1 data center (AMS1 Campus Hall 7, with Hall 8 and Hall 9 planned for subsequent phases) will be interconnected with existing data center infrastructure through a corridor. As this is an on-campus expansion, it would allow customers to profit from enterprise-grade and network-rich ecosystem features from day-1. Future-proof design amenities available at EvoSwitch AMS1 include colocation racks and private cages featuring redundant 2N cooling, direct access to major Internet Exchanges; an ever-expanding amount of managed services including cloud interconnectivity; the use of 100% renewable energy; 24/7 engineering staff onsite; and a 99,999% uptime guarantee.

“Our patented, in-house engineered and highly modular data center design offers stand-alone units with their own multiple UPS back-up solutions, as well as distribution boards, cooling units and fire suppression systems,” said Eric Boonstra, CEO at EvoSwitch. “This allows for highly autonomous and easily scalable data center units being deployed, even as a partial solution within current data center expansion, catering to the needs of cloud service providers and so many other companies with dynamic, high-scalability needs. Combined with third-party accredited security compliance standards in place, including ISO 27001:2013, PCI-DSS, SIOC1 Type II, as well as ISO 14001:2004 and LEED Gold certifications, our added data center space in Amsterdam meets all requirements of enterprises and CSPs across the globe.”

Colocation Demand in Europe

EvoSwitch’s new investment in its Amsterdam data center campus, EvoSwitch AMS1, comes as the carrier-neutral data center provider identifies growing demand for more colocation capacity and cloud interconnection services in Europe.

“European data center growth in 2017 was faster than ever before, according to a recent CBRE report and JLL report, particularly in Amsterdam and London,” added Mr. Boonstra. “The CBRE and JLL reports result are in line with our own experiences and revenue results this year. Another report from Digital Gateway to Europe mentions some key drivers for the Netherlands being a top-10 data center hub in the world. These key drivers include the wide range of high quality and low-latency connectivity options available; the stability of the energy grid in the Netherlands; and the country’s rapid expansion of ecosystems across networks, as well as cloud and hosting companies.”

“These market research reports confirm that we’re on the right track with the EvoSwitch colocation and cloud interconnectivity offerings and current expansion plans at our Amsterdam data center campus,” added Boonstra. “The rapid expansion of cloud ecosystems in the Netherlands in particular is an important factor in growing our customer base. The EvoSwitch OpenCloud cloud interconnectivity marketplace being established in 2015 enables ecosystems of cloud, hosting and networking providers as well as enterprises and startups to establish robust, direct links between networks inside our data centers in Europe and the US. It also allows for secure access at minimal latency to public clouds like AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform. The new data center build will add to the networking efficiency of ecosystem members, allowing for ecosystem growth and even more efficiency across cloud environments.”

About EvoSwitch
EvoSwitch provides secure and sustainable data center services, with cloud- and carrier-neutral data centers in Europe and the United States. EvoSwitch is home to growing ecosystems of customers around interconnection and hybrid cloud, operating at the edge of the Internet and providing access to public clouds. EvoSwitch enables global and local customers to build their IT infrastructure for growth, creating value for customers and partners alike offering currently 139.900 sq. ft. (14.000 m2) and ample room for further growth on both sides of the Atlantic. In response to customer demand and market requirements, EvoSwitch has built an extensive set of managed services including its EvoSwitch OpenCloud – a cloud-neutral and partner-rich (hybrid) cloud interconnection marketplace for low-latency interconnection options. As one of the first colocation data centers in Europe with ultra-low PUE figures while utilizing 100% renewables, EvoSwitch’s engineering teams provide special assistance for customers when optimizing equipment configurations, condition monitoring and reduction of energy consumption. EvoSwitch’s data centers in both Europe and the U.S. provide enterprise-grade security measures while meeting strict compliance and third-party accredited standards including ISO 27001:2013, ISO 14001:2004, PCI-DSS, SIOC1 Type II, and LEED Gold. Nova Scotia, Canada – DemoWolf, producer of video support tutorials for the web hosting industry, today announced that effective immediately, they’ll be providing their video tutorials to web hosting companies who want them in their websites, for free.

This announcement comes on the heels of DemoWolf implementing a new business model about a year ago. At that time DemoWolf moved away from custom branding their video tutorials and selling them to web hosting companies – a service they’d offered since DemoWolf’s inception in 2005 – to instead offering a membership service whereby hosting providers could sign up to embed their video tutorials into their websites for a monthly fee.

This latest announcement however, seems to take their business model change to am entirely new level. Although there continues to be paid membership plans with more options, DemoWolf now offers a free plan that still allows companies to embed their video tutorials into the knowledgebase or support pages of their websites.

“After years of struggling to find the best model for our business, we feel we now have the formula, and the right pieces in place to continue bringing high quality video tutorials to market” says Rob Moore, president of DemoWolf. “Now every hosting company can offer our video support tutorials to their customers, absolutely free!”

The kicker as they say, is the video tutorials served through the free plan will have a short 5-10 second video ad play before the support video plays. Recognizing that DemoWolf’s members are typically web hosting providers, they will not allow ads for other web hosting or competing companies to display through their ad network. All ads will have to be approved by DemoWolf before being added to the network. In addition, ads will be a maximum of 10 seconds long, and will show a “timer” indicating when the ad will be finished and the main video can begin.

DemoWolf claims that their video support tutorials save hosting companies upwards of 80% in support costs. Instead of a hosting client calling or submitting a ticket to their hosting provider with basic questions, they can instead search for an answer online, and be presented with a video tutorial that will walk them through their solution.

About DemoWolf
DemoWolf currently has over 450 video tutorials covering many aspects of web hosting, and the most commonly asked questions by hosting customers. Topics include help videos on cPanel, Plesk, domain and DNS issues, email client setup instructions, FileZilla and other FTP client instructions, WordPress, and much more. DemoWolf also provides several free tools to help get their videos into members’ websites such as WHMCS, ClientExec, Blesta, HostBill and WordPress plugins and modules. For more information, you can contact DemoWolf by visiting their website at https://demowolf.com/contact/ or by calling their Halifax-based office at 1-902-225-7459.
