The cloud hosting industry in 2019 witnessed an all-time high with a large number of investments, partnerships and product launches by big players. What was most surprising though the year was the number of SMBs taking the plunge with cloud services to avail data storage facilities in a bid to improve their product offerings. We also saw many Cloud Giants like Alibaba Cloud, AWS, Google and Oracle hogging the news cycle with their expansion strategies and endeavors for the future. This trend has heated the cloud market and made many industry analysts and onlookers predict the future of cloud hosting. Many predict that the rise of the cloud industry will steer the wheel of smaller players who piggyback on the steady wagons of larger enterprises whereas some predict that the smaller players will emerge as winners on their home soil while competing against foreign rivals. These speculations might be rife, but a consistent theme that emerges through these events is that the cloud industry…

Cloudflare has launched a new virtual private network (VPN) called Warp, which the company calls “a VPN for people who don’t know what V.P.N. stands for”. On the same day last year, Cloudflare had launched a new DNS service called 1.1.1.1 to deliver internet’s fastest and private internet experience to the customers. Now, the company is taking the next step with the launch of Warp. The new solution promises to turn the weaknesses of other VPN solutions into strengths. Rather than just securing and optimizing DNS queries, the Warp VPN will secure all the internet traffic and optimize it. This VPN not only works in web browsers but also applies to all the apps running in the phone. Once enabled, it will automatically encrypt all the unencrypted connections. “We’ve built Warp around a UDP-based protocol that is optimized for the mobile Internet. We also leveraged Cloudflare’s massive global network, allowing Warp to connect with servers within milliseconds of most the world’s Internet…

Targeted at web hosts, site builders, domain registrars and web professionals, the logo builder is touted as the first of its kind with its wholesale focus. Cathect Technologies, founded by Shridhar Luthria the former head of ResellerClub and LogicBoxes, recently launched its first product Logotron on the WHMCS Marketplace. “Hosting providers today know that their SMB customers are using several different web products like logo builders, email marketing, or even CRMs and HR tools. Unfortunately, there are no providers out there that offer a meaningful way to resell these types of products. They don’t have the right integration options or even the right margins that make sense for B2B partners. This is the gap we’re trying to fill.” said Shridhar. Keeping this gap in mind, Logotron has been built as the world’s first Logo Builder with API and WHMCS integration options, boasts of being margin rich, and completely white-labelled.
